Judy Murphy
MISCP, Lic AC, ACI
Judy graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1982 and gained extensive experience working in teaching hospitals for the next 15 years before establishing Castleknock Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic in 1997.
In 1992 she completed a Diploma in Sports Medicine from the Crew & Alsager College, Manchester followed on in 1996 when she completed her Licentiate in Acupuncture through the British College of Acupuncture.
In 2003, she was the Lead Physiotherapist for the World Special Olympics held in Ireland in 2003.
Judy was the Senior Physiotherapist for the Dublin Men’s Senior Football team for 5 years and she also looked after underage Dublin Ladies Football teams for a number of years. In addition, she has worked with various local soccer and Gaelic football clubs. She also worked with the Irish Olympic Clay Pidgeon Shooting Team and travelled extensively through Europe and Beijing for the pre-Olympic games.
In recent years, she has combined her private work with working as a Senior Physiotherapist in the Community. This was followed by working as a Senior Occupational Health Physiotherapist in Connolly Hospital. Judy has also completed a certificate in Spinal Manual therapy and is a Stott Pilates trained instructor.
Judy most recently completed an Advanced Certificate in Pain Management from the University of Edinburgh in 2018, which has greatly enhanced her management of acute and chronic pain. She regularly attends conferences and courses on clinical updates.
Sandra began working in this clinic in 2015. She is a highly regarded specialist physiotherapist and is very popular with our clients.
Sandra graduated from Queen Margaret University College Edinburgh in 2006 with a pre-registration Masters in Physiotherapy after completing a degree in Occupational Therapy in Trinity College Dublin. She completed a Master’s Degree in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2019 through Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research paper on anterior knee pain was published whilst completing this Masters. Sandra is an APPI Pilates Instructor since 2009 and taught Pilates Classes in Castleknock for many years. In 2021, Sandra became a Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach through the UKSCA. In 2023, Sandra completed the “Kids Back 2 Sport” Practitioner Qualification, deepening her knowledge of treating children from the age of 8 upwards, ensuring age-appropriate diagnoses and treatments.
Sandra has a special interest in shoulders, ankles, knees and spinal conditions for which she has completed post graduate certification in addition to her Master’s Degree. Having completed her basic rotations in St James Hospital in Dublin, she worked as a Specialist Physiotherapist in the UK NHS for 5 years and has worked in Private Practice in Dublin since 2013.
Sandra has a wide knowledge base in successfully managing a large range of painful and chronic conditions. Sandra ensures that conditions are treated in the most competent manner, resolving problems quickly and reaching patient goals effectively. She is an expert in providing individual, specific and evidence-based treatment programmes to return clients to full health and desired hobbies and sports.
Sandra is a member of EULAR, a special interest group for Upper Limb Rehabilitation in Europe in addition to being a member of BOFAS, a knee, ankle and foot special interest group in the UK. Sandra enjoys research and keeps up to date with current developments in all aspects of physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation.
Sandra has extensive experience in treating sports injuries with athletes from many local sports clubs including GAA,
tennis, basketball and Martial Arts. Before having children, Sandra was a competitive swimmer and competed in adventure racing. Now, she is a keen runner and enjoys regular gym workouts. She has recently restarted competing in multisport events, completing a triathlon. She enjoys all aspects of fitness and loves the outdoors.
